Scorpions cancel U.S. tour, including Sunday's concert at Amalie Arena in Tampa
The wind of change will not be blowing into Tampa anytime soon.
German hard rock legends the Scorpions have canceled the remainder of their fall U.S. tour dates, including an Oct. 15 gig with Megadeth at Amalie Arena, due to "severe laryngitis" on the part of singer Klaus Meine.
According to a statement from the band, Meine has been ordered to undergo immediate vocal rest or he could risk permanent damage. The band said that they "truly hate to disappoint our fans, and hope to come back to America soon, but this time we have no choice but to cancel."
While it's not out of the question the Scorpions could rock Tampa like a hurricane sometime in the future, at this point, tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.
