Admission to the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg will be free on April 24.

1Taste of Science: It's no coincidence that this series of talks in local watering holes is coming on the heels of the March for Science in Washington, D.C. (and a local march at Poynter Park, 1000 Third St. S, St. Petersburg, 10 a.m. to noon Saturday). Scientists are pushing hard for more science literacy among laymen and you can hear some of the area's best researchers talk about their work. Monday through April 28, hear talks on climate science, cancer and the bioscience of beer at local coffee shops and pubs. Reserve a spot at tasteofscience.org/tampa. $5.

2 Holocaust Remembrance Day: Admission will be free Monday at the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg to honor the day that marks the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. There will be a reading of Holocaust victims' names, talks by survivors John Rinde (noon) and Jerry Rawicki (2 p.m.), and a memorial service. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 55 Fifth St. S, St. Petersburg. (727) 820-0100.

3IRB Beach Fest: Feast on local food and enjoy a sunset at this festival with beach volleyball tournaments, cornhole, contests, paddleboarding and games, plus live music behind the Indian Rocks Beach County Park, 1700 Gulf Blvd. Free (food/drink additional). 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.

4Clearwater Airpark Open House: Enjoy free hot dogs and sodas as you check out aircraft and other vehicles including the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office helicopter, SWAT team apparatus, Coast Guard helicopter, vintage Army apparatus and Clearwater Fire and Rescue vehicles. Free admission. Discounted airplane and helicopter rides available. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. 1000 N Hercules Ave., Clearwater. (727) 443-3433.

5Cotee River Seafest: The annual water-themed festival in New Port Richey's Sims Park includes a boat show, arts and crafts, boat rides, seafood, performances by the Pirate Magicians of St. Augustine, activities for kids and music. 5-11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Should I infuse this vodka with bacon?

That's not a question I expected to ask myself on a Sunday morning, but here we are. This Christmas, I'm giving homemade gifts: infused liquor and chocolate fudge. But I didn't realize it would be so hard to find an appetizing recipe for infused alcohol.

    Food & Dining

Noel Cruz seemed remarkably chill. As did his partner Kerem Koca. All around them in the Station House building in St. Petersburg, workers pounded the last nails, bartenders unpacked boxes of glassware and jewel-toned bottles of Amari, and the kitchen rolled through a final round of karaage and izakaya small plates.
